CFNR: Its dynamism and response to evolving challenges
Nicolas P. Lansigan Auditorium. The auditorium was renovated and retrofitted with new seats with ample legroom and retractable armrests for note-taking. It also features state-of-the-art audiovisual system and new air conditioning units. With its modern functionality, the needs of the College and the University for local and international seminars, workshops and conferences as well as other indoor events can be effectively served. The newly constructed CFNR Amphitheater adjacent to the auditorium functions as an outdoor venue for cultural performances and related activities.
Calixto Mabesa Hall. It houses the Department of Forest Biological Sciences (FBS) and the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources (IRNR) and now sports a modern look brought about by its recent renovation. The Environmental Remote Sensing and Geo-Information (ERSG) Laboratory under the IRNR is equipped with modern desktop computers and GPS equipment. At the back of the hall are the CFNR Cloning Facility and the new CFNR Forest Biotechnology Laboratory, geared toward state-of-the-art forest-based genetic researches.

Aside from the constructions and physical improvements, the College continues to build on its reputation in the academic frontiers. The Master of Science in Natural Resources Conservation (MSNRC) was instituted in 2017, a school-from-work mode offered initially to 15 qualified students from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Forest Foundation, Inc. (FP) and its partner agencies. Further, a series of meetings with officials from Universitas Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) were held in the College and abroad to craft a Master of Science program on biodiversity conservation. In September 2018, two officials from the Faculty of Forestry at University of Sumatera Utara (USU) visited the College to sign an academic agreement between USU and the CFNR.

Various forestry and environment-based researches are continuously undertaken to cope with present and future challenges. A pool of scientists and researchers based in CFNR are at the forefront of the researches in areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change, watershed management and nanotechnology to name a few.

Likewise, various units of the College continue to collaborate, provide training and forge local and international partnerships in the areas of forest management, conservation, forest policies, mountain ecosystems development, geo-spatial technology, among others. At the core of these is its people-centered strategies to extend knowledge and services being offered by the College.
